Cingular APN settings for Ubuntu

Cingular Internet & MMS APN settings

Go to Network and open Cellular settings...

Select Carrier & APN and turn Cellular data. Open APN

For internet settings create Custom Internet APN and enter below information.

Internet APN: wap.cingular
User name:wap@cingulargprs.com
Password: cingular1
Authentication:
Protocol: IPv4

Click Activate


For MMS settings create Custom MMS APN and enter below information.

MMS APN: wap.cingular
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
Proxy Port: 80
Username: wap@cingulargprs.com
Password: cingular1
Authentication:
Protocol: IPv4

Click Activate

If the above Cingular Internet & MMS APN settings do not work on your Ubuntu device, make below changes to Cingular Internet & MMS APN settings to get Cingular 380 ATT on your Ubuntu device.

Cingular MMS APN Settings

Go to Network and open Cellular settings...

Select Carrier & APN and turn Cellular data. Open APN


For MMS settings create Custom MMS APN and enter below information.

MMS APN: wap.cingular
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
Proxy: 66.209.11.32
Proxy Port: 8080
Username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
Authentication: None
Protocol: IPv4

Click Activate

On Ubuntu, APN settings should be entered in correct case. For example, if you are configuring your APN setting with Cingular Internet & MMS APN settings configuration above, make sure you enter APN as wap.cingular and not as WAP.CINGULAR or Wap.cingular . If entering Cingular to your Ubuntu device, APN should be entered as ISP.CINGULAR and not as isp.cingular or Isp.cingular.
